Excavator shaping a building platform against the Waikato sky

Residential earthworks

Residential earthworks for a level start

House and lifestyle-block earthworks across the Waikato — building platforms, driveways, site cut, drainage and section prep. Dug clean and compacted to grade, ready for the builder and the engineer.

The first trade on site

Residential earthworks is the trade everything else inherits. The platform sets the level the foundation crew works to, the fill decides whether the slab settles, and the drainage decides whether the section is pleasant to live on or a problem to be solved later.

It is also the work most likely to hold up a build if it is not right. A platform that does not match the drawings or fails a compaction test stands the concrete crew down and pushes the whole programme out.

We work off your site plan, geotechnical report and levels rather than around them, build the fill in compacted layers, and hand over a platform the next trade can start on. Section drainage, driveways and access get done while there is still machine room to do them properly.

Common questions

Good to know

Do you prepare house building platforms?

Yes. We cut and fill building platforms to level, bench them into slopes and compact to grade, ready for the foundation crew and the engineer’s sign-off.

Can you form and metal a driveway?

Yes, from the road to the front door. We form, metal and compact driveways and rural access, with culverts and crossings where you need them.

What areas do you cover?

We work across the Waikato and King Country, including Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Hamilton, Ōtorohanga and the wider Waipā district.

Do you handle section drainage and stormwater?

Yes. We trench and lay stormwater and subsoil drainage, soak holes and downpipe connections to keep the section and the new build dry.

Can you clear and prep a section for building?

Yes — clearing, demolition spoil removal, topsoil strip and respread to get a rough or overgrown section ready to build or landscape.
